Tree(3)

Privacy Policy

Thicket Studios LLC · Effective September 23, 2026

Tree(3) is a puzzle game made by Thicket Studios LLC. This page explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it the way we would want to read it.

What we collect, and why

Your account. When you first open Tree(3) we create an anonymous account for you, identified by a random ID. If you choose to link a sign-in provider, we store the identifier that provider gives us so you can recover your account on a new phone. We never see your password.

Your profile. If you create a profile, we store the display name and avatar you choose, your friends list, and the challenge games you play with friends — including the moves in those games, which is how the game works.

Coins, hints and purchases. Your coin balance, hint count and unlocked avatars are stored on our servers. Purchases are made through Apple; we never see your payment details. We keep a record of each purchase's transaction ID so it cannot be redeemed twice.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store the device token Apple gives us so we can tell you when it is your move.

Crash reports. If the app crashes, a report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics. It is linked to your account ID so we can find and fix the problem you hit.

Usage analytics. We record how Tree(3) is used — screens viewed, buttons tapped, puzzles played, invites shared — so we can see what is working and decide what to build next. This is linked to your account ID and includes your device's language and region. It goes to Google Analytics for Firebase and to PostHog. Where we ask for your consent, declining turns this off, and you can change your answer at any time from Privacy options in Settings. Deleting your account resets your analytics identity, so later activity cannot be connected to you.

Advertising. Tree(3) shows ads through Google AdMob. If you allow tracking when iOS asks, ads may be personalised using your device's advertising identifier; if you don't, you see ads that are not personalised. Apple's SKAdNetwork may attribute an install to an ad without identifying you. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and in US states with privacy laws, you are asked for your choices first, and you can change them any time from Settings → Privacy options. When you choose to watch a rewarded ad for coins, Google's servers confirm to ours that the ad was watched before the coins are added.

Who we share it with

The services above: Apple, Google (Firebase, Google Analytics and AdMob) and PostHog, each under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data.

Children

Tree(3) is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Deleting your account

Settings → Delete Account removes your account: your profile, friends, invites, game progress (best score, puzzles solved, daily streak) and wallet (coins, hints, unlocked avatars). We keep records of App Store purchases and rewarded-ad credits for fraud prevention. These records reference the deleted account's random identifier but contain no name, email address, or device information. Purchases made through the App Store can still be restored later. Crash data already sent is anonymised over time by that service.

Your choices

Tracking: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iPhone.

Ad personalisation and consent: Settings → Privacy options in the app (where offered).

Ads: you can remove banner and interstitial ads with a one-time purchase; rewarded ads remain optional.
